basementcostguide.com publishes independent cost information about basement repair in the United States. This policy covers everything we do with data — and if it changes, the date above changes with it.
Information we collect
- Email address — only if you request our free Cost Sheet or another resource by email.
- Quote request details — if you use our “get a free quote” form: name, ZIP code, contact details, and a description of your basement problem.
- Usage data — Google Analytics 4 tells us how visitors use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device type). It uses cookies and doesn’t identify you personally to us.
How we use it
- To send you the resource you asked for. No newsletter, no marketing email unless you explicitly ask — reply “remove” any time.
- To connect you with contractors, only when you submit a quote request. Those details go to home-improvement referral networks and their contractors so they can contact you — that is the form’s entire purpose, and it says so on the form.
- To improve the site.
Consent to be contacted
Our quote form includes express written consent language. By submitting it, you agree that matched contractors and partner networks may contact you about your request by phone, text, or email, including via automated technology. Consent is not a condition of purchase, and you can revoke it with any contractor or network at any time. Our free cost information never requires this form.
What we never do
- We never sell your email address.
- We never share quote details beyond the networks/contractors needed to fulfil your request.
- We never gate our free cost answers behind a form.
Cookies & analytics
Google Analytics sets cookies to measure site usage. You can block cookies in your browser or use Google’s opt-out add-on — the site works fine without them. If we later show advertising, ad partners may also use cookies, and this policy will be updated before that happens.
Third-party services we rely on
Hostinger (website and email hosting), WPForms (forms), Google Analytics and Google Search Console (site measurement). Each processes data under its own privacy policy. Links on our site may lead to third-party sites we don’t control.
Data retention & your rights
We keep form submissions only as long as needed for their purpose. Depending on where you live (including under US state privacy laws such as the California CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold. Email us to exercise any of these — we honour such requests regardless of where you live.
Not for kids
This site is intended for homeowners and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Questions or requests about your data?
Access, correction, or deletion — one email is all it takes. We reply within 2–3 business days.
